Overview   Atari Central has been an important part of the Atari computing and gaming community since its early days on the web in 1996, under the ownership of Toad Computers. Nearly four years later and under different ownership, Atari Central continues to support the Atari Systems and Jaguar Talk message boards, and has expanded it's services as well. It has been and hopefully will continue to be one of the most often used resources among Atari enthusiasts.

As an important supplier of Atari computing or gaming equiptment, or as an Atari gaming or computing content/service provider, your advertisements at Atari Central will be seen by the people who are the most interested and most likely to benefit from what you have to offer.   Best of all... if it suits you, you can even restrict your offering specifically to one of the major content areas at Atari Central!   Got a great deal on hardware add-ons for the Atari Jaguar system?   Then place your ad on the Jaguar Talk main message page!   (We do not accept commercial advertising on individual message posts themselves.)   Have a great selection of games for the 7800?   Perhaps an ad on our 7800 graphics and audio gallery page would serve you well!

The Where & How  Each section and page at Atari Central that accepts advertising offers space for a small ad banner or button-style ad in the upper right of the page as well as a standard-size (468 x 60) web banner at the base.  The baseline banner ads are flanked by often-used "forward" and "back" navigation buttons which will help ensure your ads are seen often.   In any event... for large ads, Atari Central only charges for each "click-through" your ad generates!   This way you can purchase 1,000 click-throughs and be guaranteed that many visitors from Atari Central.   Our small ad space, while more economical and generally more visible, can only be purchased by number of impressions (or times appearing).   If for instance, you purchase 1,000 impressions for our small ad space, your ad will appear at least 1,000 times.   While the chances are likely that you will receive responses if your message is focused, Atari Central does not guarantee any number of click-throughs for small ads.

Monitoring Your Ad Campaigns is easy at Atari Central!   Once you purchase an ad, we will provide you with a login and password which will enable you to access a panel with important information on the number and names of your Atari Central campaigns, the number of times your ad has appeared, the number of clicks your ad has generated, and the percentage of views to click-throughs your ad has received.

Free Ad Placement for non-profit organizations and noncommercial Atari content providers with Atari-related events to promote may apply for free ad placement at Atari Central!   By offering this service we feel we're adding value for our regular visitors and at the same time benefiting the Atari community at large.   To apply for free ad placement at Atari Central... skip down to the bottom of this page and complete the form.   Atari Central reserves the right to decline any application for a free ad if it determines the ad does not fall within the specified guidelines, or does not provide enough benefit for the Atari community (i.e. The Atari Website someone may have put together in under an hour).   While we will do our best to be accomodating, Atari Central also reserves the right to limit the number and frequency of free ad placements it accepts at any given time.

Text-Only Ads are also available at Atari Central!   But why, you may ask, take out a text-only ad when I can mesmerize my audience with a virtual carousel of lights and action?   Well, the reason is this.   Believe it or not, a good portion of our audience surf the web on Atari STs, TOSs, Falcons, and other Atari computers, many of which are not ideally equipped to handle graphics, not to mention your graphics often come up in grey-scale.   A text-only ad loads quicker, and concentrates on the message at hand.   If your ideal audience is made up of any of the above-mentioned system-users, you may want to consider this option.
